Finding the right gay therapist.
When facing life's difficult challenges, it is good to know that there are places that you can turn to for help and guidance. However, finding a gay therapist can be anxiety producing because when people decide they would benefit from seeing a therapist, they are often experiencing significant upset in their lives. This is usually not the ideal moment to be dealing with the stress involved in finding someone with whom it feels safe and right to be vulnerable. I am aware of this and I want you to know that when we meet you will find yourself in a comfortable setting where you will be able to tell your story in strict confidence and without the worries of judgment or pressure of any type. We will discuss what you are interested in working on and how I will be able to help you. There will be no pressure to make any decisions or commitments. .
My treatment goal
My focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. Reducing pain, shame and increase self-steam is an important component of treatment. I am achieving this long lasting changes by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns and customizing a treatment plan.
Once you accept that you’re lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer, you can decide to be out to others or to stay “in the closet.” You are the only person who can decide when and how it is safe to come out. You may decide to come out in one part of your life and not in another.

About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed and Certified Clinical Supervisor in the state of Connecticut.
The ideal client brings me their heaviest needs and issues with which they cannot find relief in mind, body, and spirit. We would be developing discussions of dreams, goals of what needs to happen immediately, challenges to the immediate, and what is imagined at 6 months, one year, and into the far future! With time, we resource and strengthen self-esteem and self-love. Come find out what no longer serves you in life and let my skills help you bravely face and leave behind those thoughts, feelings, and beliefs that keep you from what you truly want out of your life.
My therapeutic orientation is based in the Schools of Integrative Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, Motivation Enhancement, and Positive Psychology, but I will use all available skills to facilitate your growth. I currently specialize in Gay Men’s therapy.
