About Me

The ideal client brings me their heaviest needs and issues with which they cannot find relief in mind, body, and spirit. We would be developing discussions of dreams, goals of what needs to happen immediately, challenges to the immediate, and what is imagined at 6 months, one year, and into the far future! With time, we resource and strengthen self-esteem and self-love. Come find out what no longer serves you in life and let my skills help you bravely face and leave behind those thoughts, feelings, and beliefs that keep you from what you truly want out of your life.

I am EMDR trained with an attachment focus in my approach. My therapeutic orientation is based in the Schools of Integrative Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, Motivation Enhancement, and Positive Psychology, but I will use all available skills to facilitate your growth.

I look forward to connecting with you about your needs and being of service!

Integrative Psychotherapy Hamden

Integrative Psychotherapy

Integrative therapy is an approach to treatment that involves selecting the techniques from different therapeutic orientations best suited to a client’s particular problem. By tailoring the therapy to the individual, integrative therapists hope to produce the most significant effects.

Unlike some single school approaches, integrative therapy is not restricted to a particular methodology or school of thought. Instead, therapists can draw on different techniques as they are needed. The goal is to improve the efficacy and efficiency of treatment and adapt it to the specific needs of the individual.

EMDR Therapy Hamden

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is a fairly new, nontraditional type of psychotherapy. It's growing in popularity, particularly for treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). PTSD often occurs after experiences such as military combat, physical assault, rape, or car accidents.

An EMDR treatment session can last up to 90 minutes. Your therapist will move their fingers back and forth in front of your face and ask you to follow these hand motions with your eyes. At the same time, the EMDR therapist will have you recall a disturbing event. This will include the emotions and body sensations that go along with it.

Internal Family Systems Therapy

Internal Family Systems Therapy

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an approach to psychotherapy that identifies and addresses multiple sub-personalities or families within each person’s mental system. These sub-personalities consist of wounded parts and painful emotions such as anger and shame, and parts that try to control and protect the person from the pain of the wounded parts. The sub-personalities are often in conflict with each other and with one’s core Self, a concept that describes the confident, compassionate, whole person that is at the core of every individual. IFS focuses on healing the wounded parts and restoring mental balance and harmony by changing the dynamics that create discord among the sub-personalities and the Self.
